We have been learning to look carefully at the pictures in books and to read and follow instructions.
Can you think of when you might use these techniques to make plants and animals?

We have been constructing and describing 2D and 3D shapes in Geometry.
We have used play dough and toothpicks. We had to make sure that the play dough balls weren't too heavy for the toothpicks. We got quite skillful at this!
Can you name our constructions?
Why do you think we didn't make a cylinder or a cone?
We read the instructions for folding houses and trees out of paper. We had to think carefully about the instructions and fold carefully. It was fun putting them together on the floor. This is called Origami.
The year 5 and 6 children at our school are learning about and designing and creating their own clocks! Here are some very unusual ones. We can't wait to see what they create!
I don't know how many of you have been onto Room 18's Blog, but this clock reminded me of the marble run that they are constructing in their class. What a fun but distracting way to tell the time!
We have been practising making Photo Stories, adding special effects to our photos and speaking clearly when we record our voices. It has been lots of fun and is improving our reading!
We made a list of words with blends in them, illustrated them, took photos and then made up some silly stories using the blend words!
Can you spot the blends?
